Owner/Accountant
My name is John Richards, sole proprietor of John Richards Accountancy Services. I am an ICAEW qualified and registered chartered accountant and my firm is an ICAEW member firm. Since I qualified in the early 1980s I have spent over twenty years in the retail/service sector at managing director level and a further combined eleven years involved in three Teesside based accountancy practices, providing me with a wealth of experience on 'both sides of the fence'.
I provide a dedicated and genuinely personal service to my clients who tend to be self-employed or owner/drivers of small limited companies. Decent people, putting in a decent effort to make a decent living out of doing something decent, whilst trying to juggle family and business life. Just like me!
I work from home, similar to a lot of my clients. I am based in Guisborough on the north east edge of the North Yorks Moors National Park, so my client base is naturally concentrated around, although by no means whatsoever limited to, the geographical area of the Tees Valley region. Wherever possible, if we need to get together, I do try to come to you at a time that suits you, saving you time and taking more stress out of your busy working life. No restrictive 'our office hours are' with me!
I prefer to completely look after carefully selected clients, rather than simply offering a 'wide range of accountancy services' which you can pick candidly from a menu, as some firms do. I can also proudly boast that I do actually provide a personal service, not merely claim to. There's only effectively me here, so there's no delegation and dilution of the service I provide. Below is a sample of some of the services I provide, but please contact me if you require further information.
The whole, of course, is inevitably greater than the sum of the parts and it's the overall service I give that I pride myself on, and about making sure things run very smoothly for clients whilst keeping an eye on the big picture, even if it's constantly changing. As they say, when things don't start to look right, then it may be time to start looking left!
Remember, you don't have to necessarily be running a business to need to submit a tax return. You may rent out a house, earn over £50,000 and receive Child Benefit, work PAYE offshore, or have made a one-off capital gain in the year. There are many reasons why people need to submit tax returns and I can assist and advise in all cases.
